There is a lot going on these days.
There are constant pressures, demands and opinions of others that can make us feel confused, upset, angered and argumentative. We are surrounded, in all life situations, on the T.V and on social media. It can feel hard to escape from it all.
Well, I'm here to give you a little bit of relief from it all.
I'm here to remind you that YOU hold the power to your peace.
YOU are the keeper of you serenity.
Start by taking a deep breathe in. Fill your lungs. Hold it for a few seconds. And slowly release the breath.
Take 2 more deep breaths in and out. Deep + slow.
Deep breaths calm the central nervous system and takes us from "fight or flight" mode to "rest and digest" mode. (psst, your digestion turns off when you are in "fight or flight" mode so this stress mode is not doing your stomach + gut any favours. You won't digest your food properly which means that you won't absorb nutrients either).
Your physical health is deeply connected with your emotional health. It is important to take care of both.
Other reset tools that you will want to tap into are just as easy + simple as taking a few deep breaths.
I love to amplify the deep breathing with my doTERRA oils. Balance, Adaptive and Frankincense are my faves to do this with. (Head over to my OILS page to get a 25% discount on doTERRA essential oils!)
I also like to use music to balance my mood. If I want to reset into a calmer space, I use music that has a lot of nature sounds which vibrate at different frequencies. You might want to explore the different frequencies : gamma, alpha, theta, beta, delta.
Going outside in nature is the greatest nurturer. Feel the sunshine or breeze on your skin, listen to the birds chirping or ocean waves crashing and let yourself regenerate by letting your bare feet connect with the earth when possible.
Sometimes even just a few minutes of of solitude in silence or with calming music does wonders. You can take this time to write down how you are feeling in a journal and allow your mind to gather information on the best ways to move forward.
Other times you may need to talk to a good friend that will help to uplift your spirits or get a hug from a family member.
What I like to do is to have a list of 'Feel Good' tools to turn to in times of need. I have created a Feel Good Toolbox that you can utilize for yourself. Here is an example of what it can look like :
Create your own FEEL GOOD TOOLBOX and keep it somewhere that you will see it and use it often.

Additionally, you may need a little mindset reset.
To create true peace, you will want to let go of what is constantly keeping you angry, frustrated or hurt.
The first steps in 'letting go' is limitation + distance.
Limit what you consume. Limit the amount of social media, mainstream media, people's opinions, comment sections, personal conversations and whatever else that is draining your energy and destroying your peace. Be careful of what you consume or it will consume you.
Distance yourself from the people, places or things that do not bring you joy. Lean into what calms your soul (use the tools in your toolbox).
And for what you can't escape or distance from, then remember that you get to choose if you are going to let the negativity consume you or choose to let it go.
